We have several updates and reminders to share with you this week! From membership options and upcoming programs to facility schedules and holiday hours, we want to keep you informed about what's happening at YWCO.
YWCO Membership Update: We Heard You
Over the past several months, we have continued listening to our members and guests about their experiences with our membership structure and available options. When significant membership changes were made in August, our goal was to create a more consistent and sustainable membership model for YWCO. Since then, we have heard from many of you through our August Member Town Hall and through ongoing conversations with our staff.
You shared that having the ability to pay for membership in advance was important, particularly for members who have historically paid annually or every three months. We also heard from guests who wanted more flexibility in accessing YWCO without committing to a monthly membership.
We listened, and we are making some targeted adjustments based on that feedback.
What Is Changing
12-Month Paid-in-Full Memberships
Beginning Monday, November 16, we are bringing back the option to pay for a full year of membership in advance at 15% off the equivalent cost of 12 monthly payments:
Individual: $602/year — save $106
Household: $1,010/year — save $178
Senior (65+): $500/year — save $88
Senior Household (65+): $908/year — save $160
Annual memberships are paid in full at enrollment and cover 12 consecutive months. They are non-refundable and non-transferable and cannot be frozen, postponed, or extended. Members choosing this option will sign an additional annual membership agreement confirming these terms.
Guest Pass Options
The Five-Day Pass remains available for $40.
Daily Pass pricing will be:
Ages 16+: $15
Ages 5–15: $10
Ages 0–4: Free
What Is Staying the Same
Current monthly membership rates remain unchanged:
Individual: $59/month
Household: $99/month
Senior (65+): $49/month
Senior Household (65+): $89/month
Anyone who has an existing or previous membership in Momence will NOT pay the $50 registration fee.
Existing paid-in-full members will continue their current membership at the price they originally paid through their existing expiration date noted in Momence. The updated annual membership pricing will apply when their current membership expires and they renew.
Current three-month bank draft members will transition to month-to-month membership within their existing membership category at the same cost. The primary change is that members will now provide 30 days’ advance notice to cancel rather than entering another three-month commitment.
The 15% discount for active-duty military, veterans, and first responders with valid ID remains available.
What We Are Not Changing
We are not bringing back the broad corporate membership category at this time. The previous corporate membership structure was connected to organizational partnerships that have changed over time, and many of those formal relationships are no longer active.
Rather than recreate a broad category that may no longer reflect our current partnerships, we will continue exploring individual community partnerships where they make sense for YWCO and our community.
Why We Are Making These Adjustments
YWCO has been part of this community for 120 years, and we want our membership structure to reflect both the needs of our members and the long-term sustainability of the organization.
We don't want membership to be unnecessarily complicated, and we also don't want to lose the flexibility that our members have valued over the years. Your feedback has helped us identify where we could do better, and these adjustments are part of that process.
We also recognize that clear communication matters when significant changes are made. Moving forward, we want to be intentional about explaining the why behind decisions, clearly communicating what is changing and what is staying the same, and giving our members an opportunity to share feedback. Our goal is to create a membership structure that is fair, consistent, accessible, and sustainable for the long term.
Thank you for speaking up, sharing your feedback, and continuing to be part of YWCO. We are listening, and we will continue to evaluate our membership options as we move forward.
