Silver Whistle Award

The Silver Whistle award is a new award given, quarterly, to one of our lifeguards. The award is given to the lifeguard who has exceeded expectations in job responsibilities, customer service and teamwork.

Ian Horvat, was presented the first Silver Whistle Award during fall semester for his outstanding work on the pool deck. Ian has worked for the YWCO for the past 5 years. Laura Patrick says, “Ian is one of my most reliable guards. In addition to guarding he is one of the YWCO’s Competitive Swim Clinic coaches and is my backup when I am away from the YWCO. He is also helping coach the Cedar Shoals Swim team. I am confident that when Ian is on deck the pool is in good hands.”
